The world turned its back on heroes.
They used to be symbols of hope, crusaders of justice, the world's protectors. For decades they were beloved, revered by the people they kept out of harm's way. But one day, when the world needed them most, they failed. They died. All of them. In fact, all supers died. So humanity moved on after they learned to save themselves and reasoned that they didn't need heroes. For fifteen years, superheroes were nothing but a memory.
So, when a tragic accident grants Oakland teen, Connor Acy super powers, he tries his best to sweep things under the rug. After all, he's got his own problems. Namely, adjusting to high school, parents who won't even talk to each other, his own identity issues, dumb crushes, an increasingly reckless best friend and the grief that threatens tear him apart from the inside out. But when the crime begins to spiral even further out of control and a new threat emerges, he may just have to stand up, answer the bell and become the hero the city needs.
