Ever since I was little I had believed in love at first sight. You know the kind of first sight love that made you go weak at the knees and made your palms sweat. The kind of love that you read about in fairy tales where the prince is just captivated by the way the princess looks on their first encounter.
But ever since my dad left two years ago, I have never felt the same about love at first sight or love in general. Love to me is just a way of trying to prove to yourself that there is something worth living for and being alive. My mum has tried to convince me that I am wrong but after I saw her get her heart ripped out of her chest by the man that she supposedly 'loved' it has changed by life dramatically. It has shown me that I don't need love to make my life worth living for. But one day while I was surfing my perspective on love and life changed forever.
