Based on the Morganville Vampire Book. (Not copyright or fan fiction, I have only based it with the structure of how the town is run)
He flipped the lighter closed and then looked to me with a smug expression, before sinking his canines into the other side of my neck biting hard causing me to cry out in pain. When he let go he stood up and wiped the blood from his face. "We may not have toxins but there is something special about shifters bites, want to know what it is?" He asked and walked to the chairs dragging one over to her and sitting down.
I closed my eyes as I felt the stinging sensation in my neck, both sides causing me to breathe in short pants as it hurt to even breathe. Hearing his question, I opened my eyes and raised my head slightly, looking at him.
He chuckled. "It's permanent, the mark that I bit you will stay with you for as long as you live, which is pretty long I hear" He said, the other shifters started laughing.
I felt sick to my stomach, I felt like I was suddenly drowned in hurt. My mate, he scared me, he scared my body with a bite that will remain there for eternity.
He then leaned into me as I closed my eyes. "Before I forget leech, I Cody Michaels reject you Cira Emmalina Valcro as my mate."
Cira was captured by her Mate after she helped with a kidnapping, Cira lost her humanity after her Sire tortured her for years, erasing her memory of her past life and turning her into a soulless vampire. When she was kidnapped by a male, she didn't expect him to be her mate who was a shifter. Not only was he a shifter but he was the brother of the girl she helped kidnapped. He rejects her out of anger and hatred for vampires, causing Cira to bring parts of her humanity back but the only parts were hurt, depression, sadness, guilt and grief.
She can't run away, it is almost close to impossible. What will she do when she gives up on everything? Or will she fight for her mates love?

I jumped to my feet and punched him in the side. There was hardly an effect. "You're weak" he spat, walking a step closer towards me. I growled as I had had it with this blood sucking devil! My fur had gone from a snowy white, to a bloody reddish color. So much blood. I laid down. Maybe just a minute of rest. I saw Liam walk up to me. He looked down at me and smiled. "What's wrong little wolf? No more energy?" He smirked. Then Liam was suddenly thrown to the damp ground by something, a jet black wolf with glowing red eyes. He was beautiful with his gleaming coat and strong legs. The black wolf left Liam on the ground and fiercely killed all of Liam's minions easily. He wasn't finished with his prowl, he turned back to face Liam but realized that the pureblooded vampire had already run off. Then I hear a deep growl. He meets my eyes, then his eyes turn from annoyance, to lust. They seem to hold a fire so intense I almost forget to breathe. He's hot. Like, really hot.
