"That one afternoon, I kissed you. In the middle of the street, where a white truck zoomed past our connected lips. And boy, it caused problems we couldn't have seen, but wasn't it also amazing?"

                                                                •••

Three years have passed, in the year of 1947, Paislee Miller lives a life of barely getting by with her bills paid and food on her table. Her little sisters seem to be the only source of happiness in her heart. After World War ll captured Deen, her forbidden, emerald-eyed boyfriend and love of her life, she had to adjust to life without it being so bright. Everything crumbled between her fingers when he left and Paislee still wonders how she could clean up the mess her past made.

Just as the anniversary of Deen's departure comes rolling around, Paislee is surprised when she opens the door to the person she thought she would never see in the flesh again. Over the years, a lot has changed but some things just seemed as if time had paused. Especially the fiery chemistry between the two past lovers.

The racism and hate still finds housing in the biased laws of Mississippi, but can Paislee and Deen's relationship survive the new world? This time, they're all grown up.

Deen and Paislee Vanilla and chocolate Day and night. Hot and cold Colored | White "You know we could never get married, you just flipped your lid. We would be a closet case." "Why couldn't we get our rings, babydoll?" His green eyes danced with confusion as he stroked my cheek softly. "Because you're white and well, I'm a negro. Everyone knows whites and blacks don't bash, that's just how it goes unless you like death. So marriage, that's-that's an odd ball, Deen." ° ° ° Nothing could go wrong in the busy town of Jackson, Mississippi, for everything was splendid. Absolutely splendid. Except for the occasional riots, or lynching of innocent colored girls, the heads hanged in the city square, or the burning cross' across the street from houses. The ear wrenching screams heard from dark alleys, the glares from men as you walked into "their" diner, going through the back doors at movie theaters, or standing on the bus after a day's long of work. This was all nothing to Paislee Miller, for she was your typical colored girl in the eye of the beholder. Living in Jackson all her life had brought her many things that she wouldn't trade in the world, even the constant racism and hate that flowed through the city's air. That is until she meets Deen Rivera. He was nothing far from perfect if you asked, and everything grand. As Deen and Paislee cross paths many times she starts realizing that her solid heart was starting to open up for this green-eyed, winsome country boy. As for Deen, well he fell in love the minute he casted an eye to her. After that, he couldn't stop seeing her, touching her, loving her. Even if that meant breaking a 'WHITES ONLY' sign, it would all be worth it. Hopefully. . . Catch 22 © 2018 RyChristina

(BWWM) EDITING "That cannot happen again." Sunny spoke breaking the silence between us. We must have been sitting in my car for a solid five minutes without saying a word to each other. "Why?" I said I not bothering to look at her. I kept my eyes forward. "Because it's not appropriate." She was stern in the way she was speaking but I could catch the slight uncertainty in her tone. I decided to mess around with her until she finally breaks and confessed how she really feel. "Did you forget you kissed me back." I turned my neck to look at her. She bit her lip and looked down. "Yes, I know and I shouldn't have done that." "Why? Isn't that what you wanted to do." I smirked making sure to watch her every movement. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Sunny Rose is a 21 year old college student. Her life had become everything but comfortable as she worries about the safety of her family and herself as the politics of everyday threaten her existence. Life in the south before the civil rights movement, and during, African Americans constantly underwent a series of all forms of hate just because of the amount of Melanin in their skin. And her being the same amount of white as she is black brings hate from both sides. With her curious mind, and ability to think deeper about everyday things she could distract herself from the harsh real world. Until the day she caught Lewis Montgomery's eyes. "You think John would've ever made you feel like this?" I asked darkly, lips brushing her nipple as my fingers circled her again. "You think he would've claimed you like I will?" She whimpered. And when I pushed two fingers inside her, her knees buckled. "Say it," I demanded. "Say you're mine." She shook her head, biting her lip. "I hate you." "Then hate me while I fuck you," I snarled, lifting her up with one arm under her thighs and carrying her to the bed of straw and soft woven sheets they'd laid out like a royal gift. I laid her down like a queen, but I wasn't here to worship. Not tonight. I was here to destroy. ❀.•°°•.✿.•°°•.❀ 𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦. 𝐇𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐭. A chaotic 20-year-old girl.
