from The beginning there has been magic.. a force of power. A tool that could be used for good.. or evil..
There was a maiden of the moon, known for the ability to give eternal life through the tears she shared with others..
there where other who wanted to covet that power and others who wanted to destroy it.
The maiden in her anger and grief cursed her and everyone who was born with power and magic.. so that their magic will be crystallized and be born with a jewel that reflects their souls.
She had even destroyed her own jewel and the power disappeared..
Until the moon's magic seeks a new master the legend shall be past that the jewel of the new maiden of the moon shall shine red under the moonlight and the tears of immortality will be given..
Now it's been several hundred years and it's the 21st sensory..
the magic seems to be lost and no one is born with jewels..
except the magician family kuroba and a little in the kudo..
Why kudo family is little.. the magic seems to skip every two to three generation and the jewels seem so small.
Yukiko kudo was born with a jewel and so was yusaku kudo Both small but still there. They both thought that their child would not be born with one sense it skips generations.. but when Shinichi kudo was born a large clear, light blue gem was born with him....
