Amateur writer Jimena "Jimmy" Salome Vega-Cuentista is jolted out of her writers block when she meets Wendy Dorena Oleander, who claims to have had supernatural encounters with ghosts in the past. Their relationship is built on Wendy's outlandish story of her time at the Corentine mansion, which, to Jimmy's surprise, really did exist. Delving deeper, Jimmy inserts some of her own research into the book to shed some light on the historical context of the victims who died at the estate wether by design or accident, while Wendy describes the few weeks that changed her life forever.
---
After leaving home for the first time, Wendy comes across a mansion on a tiny island off the coast of New Orleans for an extraordinarily cheap price. She decides to stay in it for a trial period and unwittingly stumbles into a labyrinth of curses, secrets, and murder, all created by the devious Harriet Mara, who may not be as dead as Wendy believed.

Maxene Santillas lived a simple, peaceful life-a loving family, quiet home, and a heart full of contentment. But everything changed the moment her father built a business that turned their ordinary world into one of luxury and power. At first, it felt like a dream come true: the mansion, the cars, the wealth. But dreams don't last forever. Her father became distant, cold, and consumed by something far darker than success. When curiosity led Maxene to follow him one night, she uncovered a truth more terrifying than she ever imagined. Their "business" wasn't just illegal-it was a powerful crime syndicate that ruled through fear and blood. One mistake, one word, and anyone who dared to expose them vanished without a trace. Now Maxene's living in a nightmare-trapped in a family built on lies, danger, and death. Her last name is her curse. And the only way to escape it... is to destroy it.
