Em Santa Cruz encontramos ecos de uma realidade entre as décadas finais do século XVII e o início do XVIII. Os conflitos entre europeus, indígenas e africanos, entre as cidades, fazendas, aldeias e quilombos, se fazem presentes num ambiente de pólvora e magia. Enquanto alguns lutam por riquezas, outros o fazem por justiça e liberdade.
