En el mundo de cuatro adolescentes que viven vidas tranquilas cada quien en un país diferente, encontrarse es difícil. La competencia biblioteca, una actividad realizada en la Biblioteca del Congreso de Estados Unidos, en Washington, la cual dura cuatro meses y tiene como objetivo leer todos los libros posibles. El contrincante que mas libros vea, gana. Por otra parte, los tres que pierden tienen un castigo distinto según el año que corresponda. Sin embargo, cuatro meses en una biblioteca es mucho, surgen amores, traiciones, y desacuerdos. Pero solo el más astuto ganará.
