Martin Jamison has been missing for about seven days and no one has seen him since the last lesson of the day at school. Parents immediately give the alarm but there is no news until someone, in a disguised voice, warns the police of the presence of a corpse in the woods outside the city; police talk about suicide.
A few hours later, at school, Amber studies her companions to understand what impact the disappearance of the darling of high school has on them. But all that glitters is not gold and the first investigations show that the boy was killed and hidden in the woods. Who wanted Martin Jamison dead?
Amber studies her companions one by one and finds at least seven people who may have decided to end his life.
