Salem, Washington is a town known for its history of killing werewolves, or rather people they thought were werewolves.
Rule number one, don't tell any outsiders about the town secret. What's the town secret? Werewolves exist, and they reside in Salem. Why do people actually follow that rule when half of them are either scared of or hate werewolves? Because if they tell anyone, they risk being killed as well if a werewolf hunt was initiated.
Rule number two, don't shoot at wolves unless they attack you fore you might be shooting at a transformed werewolf.
Pretty straightforward, really.

Astren City, and all surrounding area, have the highest crime rate in the northern part of the country. Dozens of crime families constantly trying to take the throne, as well as corruption lurking around every corner, do not aid in that fact at all. Salem Heart's father, Jack Heart, happens to be the Astren City Chief of Police, a title which holds a lot of weight and a rank that claims even more power. He's well respected, and amazing at his job. That said, greatness is expected of Salem as well. Of course that isn't a problem, Salem will always be loyal to the law. He was raised by it, and upholding it is his future career aspiration. He thinks he has his life figured out. The fact that his ex-boyfriend comes from a notorious crime family, and has been arrested several times by Jack's own department, doesn't matter. Salem's passed that, he's over Atlas Marino and he always will be. He will ignore that scratch in his record, and cover it up with his success. Salem is offered a job to help with an investigation that could benefit his future career astronomically. He thinks it's a win-win situation, he gets the recognition he desires, and the streets will be that much safer. It's all black and white to him, easy to understand. THE FURRY
Sometimes hate can come in many forms and variants, sometimes through hate speech and sometimes through just a little practical joke. But in this case, this was not one of those examples. After 19 year old teenager Mason Harlow former existing member of the furry community and his friends part of the furry community as well survive an attack out of hate from a person directing hate towards the furry community during a furrycon and gets arrested. A year later coming to the next furrycon in his town Mason gets prepared for, however there is one problem, there is a axe wielding killer in a fursuit named Bones The Wolf that is murdering people that he only targets those that intend to spread hate and malice towards the furry community and fursuiters in general. Mason encounters this and discovers that maybe he and his friends aren't the target considering since much like this killer he's apart of the furry community and is making a targeted statement to those that spread hatred on the community itself. Because in the furry community it's always important to be careful on who you criticize because you never know who will take it seriously and if it does, then it may kill you.
