Gabrielle always watched Benjamin from afar. It was from afar that she knew that her platonic love had been in an accident, making him a paraplegic. Even though they were neighbors and had been studying at the same school since they were kids, that was not enough reason for them to be friends or exchange at least one word. Elle is a reserved girl, and not only for being a shy girl, but her mother and teacher helps a little. Raised with strong hands by her mother, Elle sees her routine change when she starts a friendship with Benjamin, who is the opposite of her, and also of anyone around. Ben is funny and does not control much what he is going to say. He went back to school after he made a deal with his mother that all she wants is to see her son be the same as before, not depressed Ben. He has his secrets about the day the accident that left him paraplegic, and revealing it to Elle, makes her wonder about her feelings about him. Benjamin is not that perfect boy she imagined in her mind, but he will prove to her that he can be much better than she imagined. And their friendship grows, turning into a somewhat unlikely love.
