Ernesto no es un libro sobre las formas del amor sino un libro sobre el ingreso en la sexualidad de un adolescente, un ingreso que se manifiesta desde esa mezcla de inocencia y curiosidad con que un adolescente accede al primer descubrimiento del amor. Desde el adolescente es un relato de dos pasos elementales; desde el narrador, es el amor lo que se abre camino. La doble lectura es clara y extraordinaria y se fundamenta en un planteamiento que lo diferencia de los habituales: la naturalidad.
