☆ Featured on Science Fiction and ONC Longlist ☆ Earth's orbit is broken, sending the planet soaring into the depths of space. ~ A horrific miscalculation by scientists had predicted a rogue star passing by Earth ten thousand years late. Instead, the star blasted past Earth and its gravity snagged the planet much too early, dragging it off of its orbit around the Sun. As the days pass, the Sun gets further and further away. Light dims. Warmth seeps away. The snow began within a month. Three months later, and it's a constant blizzard. There's no hope for survival on the planet's surface. As time passes, the cold will only get worse. However, there's rumors of a place where there is heat. Heat means life. Logically, there is a capacity limit for this haven, and everyone knows it. Life was dull, boring, and mechanical. I’ve always wondered if this would change. If something interesting will happen. I always hoped something interesting will happen. A falling meteor that would destroy half of town, an alien invasion, or even the Apocalypse. Anything, just to relieve me of this monotonous life I lead. “Urgh,” I groaned as I reached over to turn off the alarm clock that sounded like a hundred sirens in the early hours of dawn. The golden sun hasn’t come out to expel the surrounding darkness yet. I figured it would take an hour more or so for the sun to show its shining face, so I decided to eat breakfast and take a bath first. But little did I know that today was the day that my life would change. It was the day I met her. ---------- A short story. Hey guys! This is my first try writing a pure romance story. I hope you'll like it. :D This story will be rarely updated, since I'm busy with school and stuff. So, sorry in advance. ~Just Perfect EDIT: As of 03/29/14 (arranged in this order: dd/mm/yy), this story has deviated from its original "pure romance," into something worth delving deeper into. Quite interesting. And because of this... "something worth delving deeper into," I have decided to continue the story with a PART TWO! Though that will have to wait until after Exile.
