We'd race bikes down the hill, share secrets under the old oak tree, and sneak cookies from his mom's kitchen. Somewhere between our games and the sunsets, something shifted. His hand lingered a little longer in mine, and his smile became the one I looked for the most. We never said the words back then. Maybe we didn't have to. It was just understood, woven into every laugh, every glance, every shared moment. Now, thinking back, I realize that those quiet, simple days held a love that was pure and unspoken, but real all the same...
