"Newbie, hasn't anyone told you that you don't just approach me? I'm royalty, kid. And you - you even LOOK like a peasant."

Carlos and his friends laughed as he attempted to push my buttons. Obviously, he didn't know me. I couldn't help but roll my eyes, and subconsciously think about my outfit. Last I checked, peasants didn't wear skinnies.

"What's the matter, kid? Cat got your tongue?"

"Carlos, fuck off." Dakota butted in. "Sawyer doesn't talk. Maybe because he's sick of douches like you harassing him for no good reason." She scoffed in disgust, grabbing my wrist and pulling me away from Carlos and his crew. She talked softly to me, surprisingly loud enough to hear in the boisterous hallway, while continuing to walk. "You've officially met the school assholes. The day can only go up from here, right?"

I nodded. I hadn't really been bothered by the idiots anyway. All I knew was, this school year was bound to be full of surprises.
