Ashton Waters stared at herself in the mirror as her stylist, Bruno, worked on her hair. Already she was beginning to transform into the beautiful girl that everybody expected and wanted, but it was all an act. When Ashton walked out the doors like this she wasn’t herself at all, but the image of the perfect woman. To her, the whole thing was absolutely ridiculous and if she could squash that image she would in a heartbeat.
“Start smiling now or you’ll have a harder later,” Bruno said in his soft French accent as he began to curl her hair gently. Bruno really was great to her. He was one of the only people around here that understood her dislike of the situation, even though he would have given anything to be in her place.
Ashton plastered on a smile for him that looked somewhat real, though it wasn’t reaching her eyes. This was something that she’d always dreamed of, yet now that she here she realized that it wasn’t as glamorous as everyone made it out to be. Even with all of the friends and memories that she’d made, she still wasn’t as happy as she should be or, rather, as happy as everyone thought she was.
“Thanks, Bruno,” Ashton with said a sigh after he had finished her hair. He gave her a small smile before walking out of the room. He would be back later to get all of his things, but right now the girl for make-up was coming in and he needed to get out of the way. I had to be perfect with the Royal Family.
