ADRIAN CRUISE refused to believe in love, he refused to believe in anything except for the power of fear and hate.
Having been abused most of his childhood, he decided that no one would get close to hurting him anymore, at least until she appeared, naked in his bedroom.

She is relentless, she is beautiful and most importantly, she wasn't leaving until he learned to love himself.

ADARA works tirelessly to show him that there is beauty in the world and he just needs to open his eyes.

ADRIAN CRUISE refuses to be swayed by her softness, her beauty, and her love but he was merely human. He quickly realized that this woman would not take no for an answer and that she would not leave him alone no matter how much he begged and cried.

Many forget that the goddess of love was born from the raging sea, but she would do anything to protect her daughter. Adora was Aphrodite's last daughter. Her mother kept her hidden. But, her mother isn't the only one who can keep a secret, especially in a world where your role in society is everything. For there was a prophecy long before she was born: 'Aphrodite's last child would be the one to take the throne, Her paternity unknown. They would carve her face and never forget, for she would be the most beautiful that they had met Cursed for the same fate as her mother Forced to leave her love for another The only way she shall break this curse is if she defeats the first' "Looks like the princess doesn't need saving after all." He says, quietly enough that no one else would hear, as he draws his hand away from my arm. I glare back at him. "Maybe she never did," I walk away, not sparing a single glance back, no matter how much my body was begging me to. I fuss over my hair, pouting as I run my fingers through it to put it back into place. *A warning note* I am not an expert on Greek Mythology, but it interests me greatly. Please excuse any inaccuracies in the book, but if there are any please do message or comment it and I will see if I can change it without making such a huge difference to the plot. Also, my main character is autistic and the experience will be different for everyone. I have tried my hardest to put down on paper how I feel and how I believe others see me. So, please be respectful about the decisions my characters make as I have chosen to give them many different types of neurodivergent brains. I have tried my best to represent these in the most accurate light whilst not romanticising them.

Sapphire's mournful howls of despair and grief pierced through the battlefield between her fits of hopeless sobbing. It was the sound of heart being shattered into a thousand, tiny bleeding pieces as the mermaid looked upwards. It was as if she was making a vow to the Heavens themselves. "I'll never love again." The words were so soft that Aphrodite almost convinced herself she hadn't heard them at all. They felt more like the echo of a whisper hidden within a half-forgotten dream, but the goddess of love heardthem all the same. "Well, that sounds like a challenge." Open Novella Contest 2020 Entry Based off Prompt #65. You declare to the Heavens that you will never fall in love again. Aphrodite takes that as a challenge.
