For most of her short life, Madeline Wright has endured hardships that most children are oblivious to. From a young age, she witnessed her mother, Isabelle Wright, suffer from domestic abuse at the hands of her father, Dean Wright. However, once Madeline reaches age six, her mother passes away in a car crash. For the next two years, Madeline's alcoholic father inflicts his anger towards his young daughter, abusing her endlessly.

Prior to her death, Isabelle Wright had a close friendship with actress Pam Grier and executive producer Curtis Grier. Following Isabelle's death, the married couple maintained contact with Madeline. Unfortunately, in the beginning, they were oblivious to the abuse that was taking place behind closed doors. However, on one faithful night, Pam and Curtis happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Now, under the tender, loving care of Pam and Curtis Grier, Madeline's circumstances have improved drastically. Furthermore, she is now living under the roof of a couple that is heavily involved in the entertainment business. To Madeline, it's a whole new world.

Within not long, Madeline takes a liking to the industry and expresses her desire to explore it. By doing so, the success she gains opens doors to see places and meet people she had previously dreamed about. However, as magical as her life has become, her past haunts her everyday.
