Most people thought Eden King lived too slow, Eden thought most people lived too fast. She didn't mind what other people thought, and therefore liked to savor the things that made her happy... while they lasted.
It was a good thing Eden listened to her heart and not the judgments of the people around her because after the reaping for the 67th Hunger games she might have only gotten 15 years to experience life.

Caitlyn Dust only believed three things as fact. Number one, she and Coltan were only friends, no matter what anyone said. Number two, the Capital would not be able to keep their control over the districts forever, and she just hoped it happened in her lifetime. Number three, the Hunger Games changed people, but not so much that they would turn into a bloodthirsty killer if they weren't one when the games started.

Katniss Everdeen only wanted for her family to be able to eat and for her younger sister to be able to have a happy life. Well, as happy a life as anyone can have; so when Prim tells her to try and win the Games, Katniss will do just that... try. Luckily for Katniss and Peeta, Haymitch isn't the only mentor that has developed an interest in keeping the Star Cross Lovers alive.
