**On Hold**

Struggling with her past loves, Violet Andrews finally returned to the place that hid these memories. Her old school. Starting again was a struggle, especially when everything seemed to wound her past scars. Well, almost everything.

During her two year absence, new boy Matthew Dewton transfers moved into town. It isn't long before the two are tangled in an unexpected friendship, where both refain from digging up each other's secrets.

Violet lets her boundaries dictate the depth of his friendship, but Matthew finds sparkles in her eyes and an eagerness to begin a new, raw, loving relationship bubbles within him.

And so, he promises her.

When Matt Colonels, Violet's ex-boyfriend, changed, it precipitated an unforeseen change within the three, stirring relationships that Violet never thought would exist, and in many ways never desired.

Faced with the truth, will she be able to overcome the mental barriers that hold her back from relationships or will she cave to a past of broken promises that'll haunt her for life?

The two meet in their freshmen year, with little in common but their social circles. Violet spends her days numb - hiding from the pain in any way she can. Rio runs from his. He's out from dawn to dusk, if not on the court, then scrounging up money for food or finding somewhere to sleep other than his car. What divides them most... is hope. Rio has it. Violet doesn't.
