The corps have given him the task of slaughtering the previous blood moons, moons that no longer obey Muzan and murder out of their own will. These demons are seemingly unbeatable, with no known weaknesses besides sunlight and wisteria, and it's because of that reason that Genohara will need help to be on par with these demons.

After tying in battle with a previous moon, Genohara is then trusted with the demon's own powers, adding onto his own breathing technique.
