My knight and both of my walls were gone. Then it was my bishops. I'm losing. Pain and anger ignited my heart as I looked at my opponent for the first time. It was a smiling Shu with a pair of cold but warm eyes. Then I see my last knight that has my brother's features carved onto it. It was discarded to the edge of the board. I picked it up and put it with the rest of my pieces. Shu's expression changed to shock. The tides slowly turned.
Smiling innocently, I said,
"Checkmate, my old friend."

Mate I slowly looked up to see shocked ocean blue eyes staring intently at me. I grimaced because my mate had to be the player, my soon-to-be Alpha, Selden Woods. I turned to find Selden gripping my arms, keeping me in place. I glared at him, hatred consuming my being. I pulled away from him roughly. He looked hurt, but I was far from caring.
