Avaline Chernoff, or just Av, is a wise-mouthed girl, who struggles staying on the surface, but determined to get her freedom back after being trapped in her household.  Leaving her homeland for an opportunity for education, she finally feels free, but when things take an unexpected turn she is at the bottom once again.

   General Roua, a changing shining mystery who accidentally abducts Avaline, seems to be bringing Avaline both air to breathe and more unwanted stress. But affiliating with Avaline comes with an underlying cost. Roua must go back but everything about Avaline fascinates Roua and at the same time terrifies them.

      Thrown at the wonders of the unknown, Avaline finds herself at a crossroads, will she stay and have a normal life or will she choose the unknown?
