After the death of Margaret's father the King of Scotland, her brother William and his new wife take the throne, they send Margaret off into the middle of nowhere in the highlands of Scotland where she may never be found again. 

Margaret is attacked in her new "home" in the middle of the night by barbarians that run through the highlands and she is barely able to escape when her horse rears, sending her to the ground and running off. 

Will Margaret be able to survive or will a certain highland Laird, Laird Alexander Campbell, be able to save her from those that want to use her as leverage against her brother, not knowing her brother cares nothing for what happens too her. Or will Alexander and Margaret come to some sort of middle ground and find what draws them to each other before something happens.
