Four teens live in harmony, each going through their own trauma as a friend dies.

But, two years later, a new kid moves into the same house. He's mysterious and someone in the group has taken an interest in him.

What will unfold?

'The Kids on Carson Street' is not a romance novel. Well, what's life without love but this book is much more than that. It takes a different approach, instead having five leads, although mostly focusing on just two of them.

Euphoria meets Desperate Housewives as these now five teens live in togetherness, each retreating to a different form of despair in their homes.

In this story, a conflicted boy learns that he's not the only person who has demons.

Well, in the words of the late Lamar Sullivan everyone has demons in Sagemantle.

Nolan Lennox had things figured out. Named after a baseball legend, she enjoyed being the Tomboy, her closet filled with her brother's hand-me-downs, cut-off jeans and soccer shorts. But when her first trip to high school results in a broken heart from the first boy to ever make her heart flutter and cruel words from an older girl she once thought a family friend, Nolan starts to question the very person she thought she was and wonders if her humble upbringing can compete with the afforded luxuries of her privileged peers. Throughout the next four years, Nolan struggles to maintain herself throughout her path of discovery, learning just how cruel teenagers can be through the pressures of underage drinking, sexuality and class. And despite how life seems to continue to work against her, she still manages to listen to her heart, falling deeper and deeper for the guy the entire town adores, even if he only sees her as a friend. Can Nolan strike a compromise between her own integrity and the boy she loves? And can she make him notice her before it's too late? Reed Johnson came to Coolidge High School with a lot of fanfare. The son of a hometown football legend and the brother of a local football hero, Reed wore all the pressures of carrying a town without hope into the spotlight. Thankfully, he had the talent to back it up. But when he meets a girl who makes him think twice about exactly what being a hero means, he starts to wonder if following in his brother's footsteps might be all wrong. Nolan Lennox was everything that was opposite of expected. She didn't flirt, she didn't drink and she didn't sleep around. Nothing about her was easy, but something about her made Reed want to try harder. Though she didn't look the part, she seemed to be spending a lot of time in Reed's thoughts, and he wondered if she could be the one who made it all worthwhile. But could Reed handle letting her down? And would breaking her heart break him beyond repair?

***Warning: 18+ Mature Content | Viewer Discretion Advised*** Micah Rosemond has never known real love. Despite having loving parents at a young age, his fairytale life was cut short due to a sudden car accident, leaving his father gone forever. His mother succumbed to the ways of God while they had been dragged into an abusive relationship with Richard Rosemond, a man who would soon after become Micah's stepfather. Realizing he fancied both sexes in such a preference-sensitive time, he as well as his fill-in shadow of a father figure copes with much more than what Granite Hill High School has to offer. Pascal Lorelei has an infinite amount of secrets and has no identity known by those around him. He uses anyone he can find to benefit him and his sick needs. Zara Violetta has switched personalities with her twin sister after the death of their mother, and now let's no one in behind her mental walls of protective armor. Delanie Violetta loses her voice after her mother dies and drowns in a relationship with her past flame. Habits she had weened off of slowly arise from the depths of her past to haunt her. Xandria Daimhin has fallen into her drug-induced ways every day since the love of her life disappeared from school and severed all contact from her until the next school year. Alec Clover develops severe jealousy issues when he discovers his old flame entangled with a new student all while being exclusive with his longtime best friend. Victor Daimhin hides a dark past behind his charismatic demeanor and refuses to let anyone know about it. If anyone would know, they would have to take it to their grave. Jacquelyn Lorelei has to live day to day with the fact that every man she knows and meets is either abusive or psychotic. She wonders when the day will come when they will all explode. Thalia Clover has major imposter syndrome and feels as though her family and friends only interact with her to use her for whatever she could possibly offer at any given time.

Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. But in some ways, I'm glad you're not a part of it. I just wish it wasn't like this. *** TRIGGER WARNING*** SA, abuse, suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness. This is a complete story that is much like life; fast, full of surprises, and not always how we want it to be. This has been a project of mine for over three years. It was self-published on Amazon, but after some issues in publication, I decided to just upload it on here. I hope you fall in love with these characters like I have. The friends in this story are trying to make names for themselves, figure out who they are, who they can trust, how to love, and how to separate themselves from a restrictive community. As in any coming of age story, they will experience growing pains... but will they survive them before its too late? PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.
