When Adrien goes in search of someone to talk to, he is surprisingly welcomed as his superhero Cat Noir side into the Dupain-Cheng household, leading to spending more time with his classmate Marinette.  While Adrien finds Marinette a bit difficult to understand when they are together at school, Cat Noir sees a different side to Marinette and begins to really value their relationship and maybe even see her in a different light.  When Adrien's teacher, Ms. Bustier, then pairs him with Marinette for a project, suddenly Adrien is put into some situations where it becomes easier to see Marinette as more than "just a friend."  But, will he?

While Adrien and Marinette find themselves becoming closer, Cat Noir and Ladybug are dealing with the growing unease of Paris' citizens who are concerned that supervillain Hawk Moth hasn't akumatized anyone in weeks.  The superheroes decide to take steps to try to figure out Hawk Moth's identity and uncover his plan as they also prepare for a potential epic battle with Hawk Moth. 

This is the first book in the "Secrets Unraveled" Trilogy following Adrien and Marinette's evolving relationship.  The books also delve into revealing the secrets behind the Miraculous' powers, including a new special power of the Ladybug Miraculous, and uncovering the mysteries surrounding Adrien's parents.
