A superhuman society. A massive, multicontinental effort against global warming. Incredible technological and scientific advancements by the second. Everything is utopian... except for the mass-scale acts of terrorism on the daily, and the rising rate in vigilante justice. We used to have elections to pick our next top hero of the city, but now they're just popping up like mosquitos in an Alaskan summer. It's coming crashing down on us in a completely new form of dystopia. Meet Miles Davis, one of the 17.3% of the American population who does not possess any sort of superability. He can't care less about it. Magic or no magic, he's going to join the justice and fight crime the good-old-fashioned way. Miles wants to- no -is going to be the next top crime fighter, no matter his physicality. Maybe he'll even become a famous private eye and win the city over from the shadows. At least, that's what his decision is before he enters PEAK, THE prestigious high school that preps students for the worst of the worst in law.

They got what they dreamed about: magical powers. The bad news is, so did millions of others. Manny, an overworked nerd escaping the drudgery of the real world with comic books and cartoons, saw the answer to his fantasies when the skies lit up in colorful lights. Superhuman abilities were real, making him immensely powerful. Now, though, with millions having powers, the delicate balance of society risks tipping into utter chaos. His friends and he, not used to defending anything more important than a viewpoint, will have powerful figures to contend with: a billionaire trading money for superpowers, a government agent sworn to find answers, and religious figures hellbent on their own personal Revelation.
