When civilisation has been destroyed and the once dead are now roaming the earth, there's only one thing that you can be sure of, nothing is certain.

"Be safe."
"Always."

Lyla Marie Grimes is the 21 year old daughter of Rick Grimes, leaving town with her step mum, brother and dads best friend they meet a group of people and soon set up camp to avoid the 'geeks' when two 'redneck hicks' join, leaving Lyla to think that something good could still happen, even if the world has gone to, well, shit.

** This is my first walking dead story so play nice! While I'll be sticking close to the original storyline I will be putting my own 'spin' on things just to keep it a bit more interesting! Happy reading :) **

I'm Not My Father's Daughter: Carl Grimes Fanfiction by BrittWillis19

Carl Grimes's life was great. He had both parents, a ton of friends, and a great role model. His dad was a sheriff at the King's County Police Department, while his mom was a stay at home mother. His role model just so happened to be his dad's best friend and partner at the station, Shane Walsh. Carl was content with his life. What more could he want? Emily Walsh was a good girl. She would anything to please her mother, who was never around. Straight A's, teacher's pet, the quiet student who never got in trouble, etc. Though she didn't have friends, she excelled in school. Home life was quite different. Her mother was an EMT for the city of Atlanta and worked long hours, leaving Emily home alone with her studies and Ms. Ella, her nanny. Emily's father was a sore subject that her mother would never speak of. As far as Emily knew, her father didn't know she existed, but that would change... By fate, Carl and Emily meet, but only by a tragedy. Their lives are shaken up and rearranged. Not only does their first impression and encounter suck, but so does their future. As time goes on, they see each other as best friends and are inseparable, but will that change when the dead start walking? All rights go to Robert Kirkman and AMC. The only character I own is Emily and my added characters. I do not own The Walking Dead or any of their characters. #1 shanewalsh: May 10, 2018 #1 carlgrimesfanfiction: February 22, 2019 #2 rickgrimes: October 13, 2019 #1 carl: April 10, 2020 Started: October 1, 2017.
