Book One.

Detective Jett Howards never expected to end up in his hometown of New York as a on-loan detective. After spending seven years working as a Scotland Yard detective, and another four before that as a police officer, he wasn't really sure what was next for him.

But to be in New York after eleven years of running from his past to say he was a little shocked would be an understatement. But you can't exactly turn down a personal request for your transfer from the Police Commissioner, especially after the man saved his life once upon a time.

So cue him packing up every single thing he owns; his life, his music, his writing, his dog, and hopping across the ocean for a job in New York City. Everything that was to follow was expected; murder cases that tend to go cold, saving the Commissioner at many points along the way, even stopping a terrorist attack.

The one thing that he never expected, was to fall in love with a Rookie, and not just any Rookie, the Police Commissioners son.

Power and money didn't really interest Serena, instead she wished for a life of peace and safety. Barely able to afford a bus pass, it was mere chance that she saw a man in handcuffs being escorted by police. And he saw her. Several groups wanted to control him to suit their own purposes, but he could not be controlled by force. He only wanted one thing - and it was her. I will be your heart, if you will be my shield. * * * Sneak Peek * * * I pitied the man, although with that many cops around him, he was likely quite dangerous. Who needed 30 police officers to supervise one guy who was likely in handcuffs and leg shackles? I absentmindedly watched the man walk down the gauntlet between the rows of officers. It was as if I couldn't look away. He paused and looked around. His brilliant glowing blue eyes seemed to meet mine across the vast distance. I couldn't even blink as his eyes seemed to hold mine. The trees of a park broke our locked gaze as the bus kept on driving. I took a deep breath, suddenly realizing that I had stopped breathing the moment our eyes had met. I had never seen such blue eyes before - and they glowed! A shiver ran through me. I had been too far away to even determine the color of the police officers' hair, let alone know the color of the man's eyes. My eyes watched the trees, hoping for a break in them so I could see the man again. I had no such luck. --------------------------------------------------- Please note that this story has nothing to do with any of my other stories. He finally found the one. The one that he had given up on finding at such an early age, he finally found the person who could complete him. Now he just had to make sure he could keep her safe. He had found her in the worst possible place: right in the middle of a case. "By the way," his partner pulled him out of his thoughts. He surprised him by giving him a mischievous smirk. "That growl? 10/10 in my book. Very spooky. 9/10 on Rotten Tomatoes for Plot and Suspense. Of course, one point was taken away for doing it near humans, a woman, nonetheless. But, other than that, loved it." He had to take a deep breath for that. He stopped walking and glared at the man. "You know," he started. "One of these days you're going to wind up dead because of that mouth." "From you?" "Possibly." "Good," that smirk never left his face. "You have no idea how annoying it is being immortal." "Can't be worse than being friends with one," he rolled his eyes and continued his walk. As much as he was excited to find his love, he couldn't help but be concerned for the woman. She was a gypsy without a past or a family. And it seemed like there was more than just him looking for her. But who was it? And why? Why was she trapped in that glass? Detective Jim Magnar didn't know the answer to that. But he had a feeling that this was just the start to something much grander than a simple call on the police radio. It was a destiny trapped in glass. And now he had to figure out where it was leading him. * A mystery romance with a supernatural twist! Come and join this detective's ragtag group of friends and coworkers as he deciphers who is after the love of his life! Will he be able to win her over? Completed 07/31/23

Prison Diaries: Book 1 (complete) A law-abiding student gets entangled with a broody inmate when she discovers there has been a miscarriage of justice. She goes in to help, but ends up breaking the first rule of interning at a prison; she falls for the inmate. ***** Carter Reynolds' teenage years ended the second the gavel hit the sound block. Or maybe they ended when the police found him standing over a dead body, drenched in blood. It might even have been before that. When he connected his fist with a face that left a broken jaw in its wake. Either way, it was over. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He accepted his fate, only promising himself to never care for anyone so intensely again. Almost four years into his sentence, Arya Crawford walks through the wrought iron prison gates. A self-proclaimed miniature philanthropist with a heart of gold, a law-abiding student with an urge to always have fun, a girl with a silent cause. She had taken up an internship at the New York State Penitentiary. And in time, Carter and Arya both realize something. She had broken the first rule instructed by the warden. She had fallen for an inmate. Which meant she couldn't stay. He had broken the promise he made to himself. He had started to care for her. Which meant he couldn't let her leave. But it's a little difficult to make that happen when you're stuck in a closet sized cell. And waiting twenty-one years is out of the question. ***** Highest Rankings: #6 in Romance, #2 in Passion, #4 in Badboy, #1 in Witty (for those who don't think an inmate/prison trope is their cup of tea, don't be put off because the story is first and foremost 'romance') Disclaimer** Reader discretion advised. - Mature content Story contains explicit language, sexual content, and physical and sexual violence.
