There are two versions of this story on my account...This is the unedited version. This has all the parts and the first chapter (Chapter Zero) won't fit exactly in with the rest. I am in the slow painstaking process of editing this so everything flows.  But I wanted to keep this up in case people still wanted to be able to read it and not just a few parts. 

Eli Carter... Lost his mother due to cancer when he was only 16.

 Luke Carter... Lost his wife, lost his job, now on the track to lose his life. 

Life turns black for the both of the Carter boys. Emotions skyrocket between the two, leaving Eli in a dangerous, but tight spot. With an alcoholic, abusive, and dying father, Eli joins a competition whose grand prize is just the right amount of money to pay for a kidney transplant. But will it be enough when Eli unravels a shocking truth about his biological father?

Lucy Smith is entering into her first year of high school, going to school with her best friend and four out of her five older, protective brothers. Being part of the Smith family gives her some different effects on the the guys around her and some people don't take too kindly to that. Her marriage was not what she had imagined it to be, her husband was a jobless man who lived with his mother. He actually got married to her because he thought she was from a rich family. He wanted a family he could live off. He didn't know that they didn't have all the glitters and riches and they were living in their past glory. He was patient enough with her. He tried all he could to hide his real self. After the birth of her daughter, they left town to make a better life for themselves that was when the real devil in him unleashed. He became unbearable, he beat her, and he sometimes threw her out in the cold and brought different types of women into their home. Even when she tried to develop herself, by venturing into a business, he tried all he could to wash it down the drain. She was torn between staying in the marriage and running away when she lost a pregnancy due to his battering. She wanted to leave because she was scared and she was scared of leaving because of what people would say about a woman leaving her matrimonial home. At this point in her life and for the first time, she was going to make a decision for herself without caring so much about what people would say about her.

Ever since that day they have been harassing him physically and emotionally. As his twin, she took it upon herself to protect him- if she had to swing a fist, you bet your asses she would! Here enter Luke Rivers, he was a part of the "No Brainy Bunch" as Juliet liked to call the Football team. Sure he stayed in the sidelines and watched his friends do horrible things- that's what Juliet hates the most, the bystanders who never bat an eyelash when it comes to abuse.
