There are two versions of this story on my account...This is the unedited version. This has all the parts and the first chapter (Chapter Zero) won't fit exactly in with the rest. I am in the slow painstaking process of editing this so everything flows.  But I wanted to keep this up in case people still wanted to be able to read it and not just a few parts. 

Eli Carter... Lost his mother due to cancer when he was only 16.

Life turns black for the both of the Carter boys. Emotions skyrocket between the two, leaving Eli in a dangerous, but tight spot. But will it be enough when Eli unravels a shocking truth about his biological father?

Or maybe plain deserter?! ********* I'm too scared to even look inside this book I know it's sad and just awfully written... I will work up the courage to rewrite I promise! It's short and an easy read. ... I swear I'll stop being scared soon and I'll reread it and the write it again from scratch with this book being my base line.

Due to having a terrible memory, Aiden decided to write in journals about his daily struggles, his longing for a better life, and breakthroughs that he accomplishes throughout the story. Aiden loves to sing and Write his own music. He is good at the piano but his love is the old guitar that his Gramps gave him years ago. Aiden has one younger brother named Caleb, which is the normal typical annoying brother. Aiden has a girlfriend named Tessa who lives about an hour away from him who he longs to marry. Throughout the story, Aiden struggles to move on through each day, as days turn into night and night into day, he finds himself growing colder towards his father. Who is the towns hero practically. everybody loves the star football coach, Josh Phillips. Things aren't what they seem behind doors though, their father tends to be abusive. Verbal and physical. Aiden can choose to live with his mom but chooses not to because he wants to protect his brother who can't choose yet. As Aiden dives deeper into his fathers unknown past, he uncovers more and more details about his father's past. As he continues to dive deeper, the tension grows heavier. Through out the story, Aiden finds himself digging through old journals, trying to remember certain things. Can Aiden solve the mystery of his father's behavior and show the world the true nature of his father or will he choose to shrink down to nothing and continue to struggle?

Lucy Smith is entering into her first year of high school, going to school with her best friend and four out of her five older, protective brothers. Being part of the Smith family gives her some different effects on the the guys around her and some people don't take too kindly to that. He tried all he could to hide his real self. After the birth of her daughter, they left town to make a better life for themselves that was when the real devil in him unleashed. He became unbearable, he beat her, and he sometimes threw her out in the cold and brought different types of women into their home. Even when she tried to develop herself, by venturing into a business, he tried all he could to wash it down the drain. She was torn between staying in the marriage and running away when she lost a pregnancy due to his battering. She wanted to leave because she was scared and she was scared of leaving because of what people would say about a woman leaving her matrimonial home. At this point in her life and for the first time, she was going to make a decision for herself without caring so much about what people would say about her.
