(Rewrite of Better Than Perfect~)
I'm Ridley McKinnon, I'm 16 and I come from a broken home with a heavy heart- broken by my best friend, Matt Westfall. I've loved him for five years, knowing he only loved Melinda, who he'd been with for two. Matt's the kind of guy who will lead a girl on without realizing it. He knows I'd do anything for him, and knowing that seems to be an advantage.
I'm willing to go to hell and back for him, even though I know I shouldn't.
Every love story has some sort of ending, they just make it seem happy so no one knows the truth. They talk about how the girl gets the guy she wants and they dance away together into the darkness when the sun sets.
How they're happy like the couples on TV.
But no one ever talks about what happens backstage. They aren't happy, kissing each other goodnight.
They scream and throw things at each other. Do all they can to hurt each other.
Everyone falls for the wrong guy at some point, but if you do it all the time, just to get over the past, well, what's the point?
"So take a look into my eyes one last time
So we never forget
The way we were before
When we came alive at the moment we met
This is still worth fighting
Still worth fighting for"
We aren't all sunshine and rainbows, and we can't chase them when they aren't there.
So why keep trying for a love that's slowly dying?
*LOOSELY based on a true story, somewhat*
*possible trigger warning*
(probably gonna be editing)
I was close to dying if not from my sister. I went from bitches at school to my alcoholic, addict abusing mother. Then my best friend decided he wanted stop be part of the crew that cries for me to give me another reason to live. I didn't want another one but...it feels nice.
Warning: This is rated MATURE for a reason. Mentions of cutting, abuse, alcoholism, bullying, gayness, and Gacha pictures because they help me visualize my characters better. If any of these things make you uncomfortable, get the hell away from my story, no one said you had to sit here and read this.
I am not a professional writer but I did try with what my pain and emotions gave me. The entirety of the story is explained over time so if you want to sit and read, be my guest. Our protagonist is Ryan and let's just say he's gonna go through hell and back.
