The sands of Egypt are very much alive, and what lies beneath them defies man's worst nightmare. There are rumors of a city buried beneath these very sands -- one so filled with darkness and greed that the gods themselves destroyed it to contain the evil. In 1926, an unlucky soldier is the only one to understand the dangers of Hamunaptra, but nevertheless, he guides two young archaeologists and their treasure-hunting brother to it.

Ahmanet has waited for millennia to find Hamunaptra, being cursed to never locate it without the help of humans. Now Rick and the Carnahans have given her the keys to raising Imhotep, her brother, but her desire doesn't end there. Ahmanet races to resurrect the woman she loves, Anck-su-Namun, before the ragtag team of humans can stop her and her brother.
