Lucas Allen is a teenage boy with a rare mental illness called DID. After the death of his father, he's forced to move in with his aunt and her family. That includes his cousin Gar. While he is living with them he falls into the hands of Doctor Niles Caulder after both he and his cousin get infected with a deadly sickness. After they both were cured by the doctor they were forced to live with him. While Gar can turn into different animals, Lucas gets affected by the doctor's mystery "Cure" in a different way. While he struggles with the changes to his body he also has to constantly battle to stay in control. Everything changes one day when Gar brings home Rachel Roth and the pair decide that leaving everything behind for a random girl they both just met is better than living in a mansion.
