When a police captain is murdered, the chief medical examiner of New York, Doctor Lucy Snow has her work cut out for her. But when a string of other important people turn up dead under strangely eerie circumstances the police detectives and the doctor know that a serial killer is still at large and any of them could be next. And with threatening phone calls and her secret desires doctor Snow worries if she will be next, and that anxiety starts to eat away at her until a confrontation with the man responsible. And the turning up of many more bodies.
The morgue is a packed place, and the secrets within it hide in plain sight especially when she knows that shes next.
