Scarlett Kingston is an outcast, known as the Arsonist from Southside High. Everywhere she goes, things seem to spontaneously combust or start on fire. Nobody even seems to give her the time of day other than to torment her, that is, until she meets French exchange student Lucien D'Ange, then that's when her world turns upside down. Between mysterious creatures made of shadow starting to stalk her and a power within she can't control, it's revealed that she's actually Princess Crimsona Kaida of the continent of Sciana, and her father is the king of all dragons, and Luc is also a noble as well.

For her own protection, Luc brings her to Eternal Flame Academy, where she begins life seemingly anew, with newfound friends, newfound drama, and newfound problems. Between classes to further her high school education, she also tries to learn how to contain her power within.
