 It was late at night when it happened, outside, a car door slammed and a motor whined, sounds of whimpering and muffling echos in. The rain sharpened the smells of smoke and earth, the hazy cloud of light above a distant city glimmered and glistened while dimmed lights glow between the trees. She looked down to the two dying bodies, still struggling to set free.

I began to pluck the petals from the stem one at a time, gathering them in my small calloused hand. When I was done, I held them close to my chest and whispered quietly. "Now for the finishing touch." I said breathing deeply before blowing the handful of petals away. "What was that supposed to do?" Flinn watched as the wind swept the soft specks toward the horizon. "Well they're going to carry my wish away so it can sprout and come true. Here you try." I held one out to him. He plucked it gently from my palm, blushing. "Fine but you have to look away." He grumbled. I giggled, turning my back to him. He mumbled to the petals softly before declaring, "Okay I'm done." I turned to face him then. "What did you wish for?" I asked curiously. Flinn stared at the ground for a long time before his haunted gray eyes met mine. "I wished for him to die." ~~~~ Eliya and Flinn share a dark past. "You mean that you want to find a new way of sucking the sap out of me, and using me like you always do?" "I'm sorry for what happened, Chrys. I truly am!" he finally concludes, his eyes refusing to let mine go. A wave of Aws passes over the street as the single ladies strategically standing on their balconies swoon at the fit for a rom-com scene. Little do they know is that they just fell for another trick of the master of opportunism. Planning on hissing on him and going back in, I take a deep breath and brush a hand through my tangled hair. Much to my dismay, my elbow knocks one of the many aloe vera pots, and soon enough, it rains plant and flowers on the guy as the audience gasps in terror. 🍂 Human Botany 101 🍂

Flashback: A part of this memory skipped and she could see a dark room. It didn't look to be a room but a closet? The lights seem to be running low. How strange, almost scary. She felt hopeless, maybe sad. It was confusing but there were a lot of negative emotions. She found a bouquet of black roses. Black Roses, they seem to call to her. There was a note attached to it. She read it aloud. 'Dear (Y/N), I'm sorry I didn't meet you last night. I had actually fallen.... Yesterday was very tiring. Please (Y/N), I don't want to fight anymore. Without you by my side it would be like a clown missing his balloons. I am outside.... The letter made her feel as if her heart was doing backflips. She could feel herself laughing. He really did know how to get her out of her bad mood. She observed the black roses. They were very beautiful but there was more to them than the memory seems to show. End of flashback.

Our connection breaks and I can finally look away. What just happened? I felt a pull to him like I had to go to him. Slowly getting on my bike, I make my way home. I can't stop thinking about him.
