After losing his memories the now world renowned gladiator Ares has to rely solely on the Count for information on who he used to be and what to do to repay the debt he has. What the Count tells him isn't pleasant but it's all he knows. Accepting it as fact he goes into the arena at the mans request to repent for his crimes.

A romance between a gladiator and an emperor's daughter is no match for marriage though, putting them both at risk when Venus pulls them together. Doomed from the start Caius and Aurelia will have to decide just how much they're willing to risk and just which door they're willing to walk through to find what they desire on the other side.
