Strange Beginnings is a collection of short stories by Treesong. These tales all take place in the same setting as the author's first novel, Change. However, you don't need to read Change in order to appreciate these stories.
The tales presented in this collection all relate in some way to the theme of strange beginnings - and often strange endings. Some tend more toward science fiction. Others tend more toward fantasy. They all present an unusual twist that takes us one step away from the reality that we know. In the process, they allow us to view that reality from a new perspective.

Nicky thought she got things all figured out. She'd be very good at school and be the valedictorian of the single-section class of 2010 of the highly looked-up science high school in their island. And then, she'd get a full scholarship to her dream university. All was fairly well except for a few things like grappling her feelings towards a long-time crush. Just when Nicky thought she could get through high school without too much boy-drama, a somewhat seemingly love life with a boy or two and suddenly, maybe even three was finally catching up with her during the last few months before high school graduation. She had never thought she could be wrong about a person. And that she could always be wrong about boys... ✨✨✨ Sidenote: I wrote this from November 2010 to April 2011, only a year ahead from the time set in the novel. This was fully uploaded on Wattpad in September 2013 for safekeeping. I hadn't gotten back to it in so many years nor find any means and time to promote it.
