"What do you mean by that?" I muttered through clenched teeth. Every step I took made me want to cry out in pain.

He smiled at me, and I had to look away so he wouldn't see the blush on my cheeks. Even in my immense amount of pain, he still had an effect on me. "It means that I'd still go out of my way to save you, but you would most likely smack me across the head and fight off the enemy yourself."
