After being married for just over a year, Hope decides to run away from her abusive husband after not being able to take it anymore.

While beginning her new life, Hope starts to realise she's being followed. Can Hope escape her ex-husband and his obsession with her or will she be sucked back into his grasp, unable to escape?

Prologue:

"Sometimes I wonder what would've happened if I had made a different choice back then. If my life would be less...controlled. If my life would be better. If I would have fewer bruises on my body.
Don't get me wrong, my husband loves me. He really does but he just gets angry sometimes. It's usually my fault though. He works so hard to make money for both of us, the least I could do is keep the house clean, make sure a meal is prepared when he comes home and satisfy his needs. Sometimes though, the house isn't clean enough for him or his food isn't prepared on time or I'm too tired to satisfy him. That's when he gets angry and he hits me to discipline me and when I'm too tired, well he makes sure that satisfy him whether I want to or not.
We've been married for just over a year, but we had known each other our wholes lives. Liam, that's my husbands name, has been my best friend since we were in first grade. We started dating at 17 and he proposed when we were 19. Both our parents approved obviously, as our families are really close. Finally, at 21 we got married.

Then everything changed."
