After the passing of his mother & his ruined relationship, Perseus Jackson leaves Camp Half-Blood granted he was doing tasks for Athena, in order to be able to ask for Annabeth's hand in marriage. While out in the woods after leaving camp, Percy soon comes across a clearing, where the stars aren't just a fragment from the sky, but literal stars covering the clearing in a magenta light. Leading Camp Chaos, Percy Jackson is the Cosmic Sword of Chaos.
