Mr. Darsky runs Better Living Industries - or at least, he thinks he does. Plagued by a haunting lyric he heard from the forbidden radio station, Mr. Darsky starts to believe there is more to life than what he has created for his experiments. But is he really in control of the company? Or even of himself?
Elsewhere, on the outskirts of Battery City, the four Killjoys have spent years fighting the draculoids, raiding BLI, and doing their hardest to dismantle the system put in place to stifle their creativity. But this time, they're gearing up for their most intense battle yet - and this time, it's personal.
Yet each Killjoy has a secret, something that threatens to crumble the fragile hold they have against Dr. Doom and the draculoids.
Will Mr. Darsky and the Killjoys pull through? Or will they let their secrets ruin them forever?

It is now 2019 and their headquarters have grown stronger in Battery City, California. A place where everyone is on happy pills.
