Why are you grinning Vi?" he laughs pulling over on the road. "Nothing just sometimes you're kinda cute." I laugh. "Oh you think I'm cute?" He says poking me. "What nooo!" I blush getting out of the truck. I hear his door shut after mine. "Can you not handle some teasing shorty?" he laughs standing in front of me. "I totally can." I say looking down. "Then look at me." He says putting his hand under my chin. I don't think I could have blushed harder. "You seem nervous Violet" he says. His voice had gotten slower, almost suggestive. "I'm not sure.." I say looking into his deep blue eyes. "Why're you nervous Vi? It's just me." he says soothingly, I relaxed a little and said "Cause I don't know what you're going to do..." I whisper to Alex. "Oh you mean because I might do this..?" he says as he moves one hand from my waist to push my hair behind my ear, placing his hand on the side of my face. I realize what's happening as he starts to move closer, I close my eyes and lean into him, his arms pulling me closer. Then our lips met.

"No! You don't walk away!" He stops me and turns me to face him. "Let go of me!" I snap back as I remove my wrist from his grasp. "What are you so damn afraid of?!" He yells. "You!" I finally admit. "I have never in my life felt this way about anybody. I have never even felt it from anyone. It fucking terrifies me and I know I sound crazy, but I don't know if I can accept this." This is my first story sooo🤨 He was cold, ruthless, and killed. There was no doubt that people feared him, he was the mafia don for crying out loud, yes although he had looks that killed he was so dangerously handsome but some people thought that he wasn't human for how evil he was, but someone in particular caught his eye, someone that...changed him, Amelia. There's this silence between us that stretches longer than it should, and it wraps around my chest like a weighted blanket. My throat tightens. BOOK 1 OF 3 - "Violet." Harry's voice stops me in my tracks, a shiver snaking up my spine at the steady tone he always seems to carry. I slowly turn back around to face him, our eyes meeting in the dark cab, the only light coming from a street lamp above the car. "Are you al-" He starts to ask that same goddamn question. "Don't." I cut him off. "Don't you ask me that again. Okay? I don't even know you." Harry doesn't say anything and lets me open the door to get out of the car. "That cut wasn't there this morning." He states matter of factly. "What?" I duck my head back down into the cab to look at him again. "Em told me your story about how you split your lip." He looks deeply into my eyes and I'm suddenly self conscious about how attentively he's looking at me . "Unless I missed you sneaking off to play volleyball during work, that was not there before that pompous asshole boyfriend of yours showed up." My mouth falls open slightly, not knowing what to say in response to him calling me out so blatantly. Nothing he's saying is accusatory toward me, he just obviously doesn't believe a single thing I've said. And he's right. They're all lies. I shut the door in his face, my solution for not having a response. I turn around to walk toward my house, a little shaken by this interaction with a perfect stranger who saw right through my bullshit immediately. I hear Harry's car roar back to life as I attempt to unlock the front door with slightly trembling hands. The lack of sleep, drama with Johnny and the conversation I just had with Harry is proving to be too much for one day.
