Het dorp van Brant wordt geteisterd door een monster dat al het vee op eet. Het dorp van Brant gaat op zoek naar dit monster om het te verslaan. Nadat Brant een wolf uit een beren val heeft gered, komt hij erachter dat deze wolf niet erg gewaardeerd wordt binnen zijn dorp. Brant krijgt het echter niet over zijn hart om deze prachtige wolf te vermoorden en besluit weg te lopen richting het zuiden.
