Eliza Erudite remembers very little of that day. She remembers the walk to the bakery, and she remembers the pastries she bought to cheer her brother up. 

But she doesn't remember the man who jumped out of the alley. She doesn't remember the needle that was pushed into her arm, and she most certainly doesn't remember the altered blood that coursed through her veins.
