He makes it his business to find out what haunts her as his heart broke when he heard her cries in class. It confused him because Lailah was a stranger but it broke him to see her emotionally unstable. She won't allow him close to her and he knows that the only solution to getting close to her is marriage. He hears that she has to return to Yemen making the proposal and marriage rushed.
