"Naniniwala ka ba sa mga diwata?" tanong sa akin ni Lance. Nakikita ko ang kalungkutan sa kanyang mga mata. Sa hindi maipaliwanag ay biglang bumigat at sumikip ang dibdib ko.

"Oo, pero hindi pa ako nakakita ng kahit isa sa kanila," sagot ko. Inilibot ni Lance ang paningin niya sa kabuuan ng paligid na puno ng pangunulila. Ayaw ko siyang makitang nalulungkot ng ganyan.

"Alam mo bang nakatagpo ko ang isang diwata?" Napatingin ako sa kanya. Bumilis bigla ang tibok ng puso ko. "Isa siyang diwata habang ako naman ay isang tao at sa lugar na ito nabuo ang pag-iibigan naming dalawa."
