The year is 2402, more than 20 years after the Dominion war, Life is starting to fully recover in the alpha-beta quadrants. The Romulan Star Empire is still at peace with the United Federation of Planets and is considering formalizing their alliance with a possible membership.
New means of space travel are being discovered and outposts/starbases are being built in the gamma and Delta quadrants. A new fleet of starships is being built to travel to nearby galaxies equipped with the new experimental quantum leap and slipstream drives. In command of one of these new starships, newly promoted captain James Walter Scott, of the new USS Enterprise F. Before the ship is sent on a 7 yr. mission to explore the neighboring Andromeda Galaxy, they make a startling discovery on the new Starbase 587, which harbors a deadly secret, and find out about an ancient enemy who, unbeknownst to them, is planning on raising again!
