Twenty year old Layla Johnson lives just south of Witherbear, nearly two hundred miles away in the shy town of Dunisk. She was content with her life, a new job with her long-term boyfriend, two loving parents and a little brother.

Until she pulled up to her parents' home, her father being dragged into the back of a squad car, and her mother being zipped into a body bag. Her twelve year old brother stood beneath the red and blue flashing lights, a warm blanket tucked around him as silent tears fell onto his shirt.

Now, Layla must find out why her father murdered her mother, and tried to drown her brother.
