Saudade

This story is about a girl named Calliope.
She is a Shifter.
A being that has the ability to change into a human.
But just like all the other Shifters she faced the harsh reality of their kind in the modern day world.
They are enslaved and seen as pets rather than people.
The humans have burned their villages and captured almost all of them save for a few lucky ones.

Will Shifters forever be forced to live like the animals humans view them as or will they get the chance to actually live?
